Natchez Trace Parkway

Ross and I have put together a last-minute 4 day/3 night bike trip that will take us along the Natchez Trace Parkway from Nashville TN to Natchez MS, leaving on Tuesday May 9.

Days 2 and 3 will take us from one end of the Natchez Trace to the other. This part of the trip has a 50 mph speed limit. It’s a national park, but there are no fees to drive it. Here’s a link for more info: Natchez Trace Parkway (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)

Here’s the itinerary:

  • TUES MAY 9 – 316 miles: Meet at the BP station in Caseyville IL at 9:00. Ride to the hotel in Nashville, with a detour thru the Land Between the Lakes. Check into the Hotel Avery (100 Coley Davis Road Nashville, TN) for one night.
  • WED MAY 10 – 359 miles: Check out of Hotel Avery. Get on the Natchez Trace Parkway and ride it until Jackson MS. Stay the night at the Hyatt Place (1016 Highland Colony Pkwy RIdgeland, MS)
  • THUR MAY 11 – 388 miles: Check out of Hyatt Place. Get back on the Natchez Trace Parkway and ride until the end in Natchez MS. Cross into Louisiana and turn north until Conway AR. Check into the Motel 6 (810 Museum Road Conway AR).
  • FRI MAY 12 – 336 miles: Check out of Motel 6. Ride north to Rolla MO, then head back to STL on I-44.

If we’re in the mood, we can add a fifth day to ride some of the roads in NW Arkansas.

Here’s a google map link to the planned route, including hotel stops. Gas and meal breaks aren’t included. 2 Rauckman Dr, Caseyville, IL 62232 to QuikTrip, East 4th Street, Eureka, MO – Google Maps

Sorry for not giving more notice. We just recently decided this, and I have personal commitments that make me have to do this in May or it won’t happen this year.
